Arkansas Broker Brandon Still Suspended 18 Months for Misappropriating Firm Funds

suspended

According to FINRA, Brandon Joseph Still was assessed a deferred fine of $5,000 and suspended from association with any FINRA member in all capacities for 18 months (April 17, 2026, through October 16, 2027), following an April 17, 2026 AWC.

Still received an erroneous payroll deposit of $18,801.39 from his firm due to a payroll processing error. His normal monthly compensation was approximately $1,885.38—meaning the erroneous payment was nearly ten times larger than his typical pay. Despite this obvious discrepancy, Still did not contact the firm to report the error or seek clarification. Instead, he transferred $15,000 from his firm checking account to his personal brokerage account at the same firm and used those funds to purchase securities for his own benefit.

Still only acknowledged receiving the erroneous payment after the firm discovered the discrepancy and specifically asked him about it. Following the firm's inquiry, he reimbursed the full amount.

While this case involves an internal financial matter rather than direct harm to investors, it reflects a serious breach of the financial integrity standards that apply to registered persons in the securities industry. Registered representatives are in positions of trust—they handle customer assets, execute customer transactions, and operate within systems that depend on honesty and transparency. A broker who uses funds known to be improperly paid—without disclosure and without authorization—demonstrates a willingness to use others' resources for personal gain when presented with the opportunity.

The 18-month suspension reflects the seriousness with which FINRA views financial integrity violations, even when restitution is ultimately made and no customer was directly harmed.

Investors benefit from working with brokers who demonstrate consistent financial integrity. A broker's disciplinary history is publicly available through FINRA BrokerCheck, and investors should review that history before establishing a relationship with any securities professional.
