Brendan Kammerer Suspended for Failure to Comply with FINRA Arbitration Award
According to FINRA, Brendan Kammerer (CRD #1899233) of Swampscott, Massachusetts, was suspended from association with any FINRA member in all capacities pursuant to FINRA Rule Series 9554 for failure to comply with an arbitration award or related settlement. The suspension became effective on April 8, 2026, under FINRA Arbitration Case #25-01881.
FINRA's arbitration forum handles thousands of investor disputes each year and issues awards totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. The Rule 9554 suspension mechanism is a critical enforcement tool that ensures those awards are not simply ignored. When a broker fails to pay an award, every day of non-payment compounds the harm to the investor who relied on the arbitration system to obtain relief.
Suspension under Rule 9554 means that Kammerer may not perform any functions requiring FINRA registration during the period of suspension — he cannot execute trades, provide investment advice requiring registration, or serve in a supervisory capacity at any FINRA member firm. This consequence is significant, as it effectively removes the individual from the profession until the arbitration obligation is satisfied.
The prominence of unpaid arbitration awards as a disclosure item on FINRA BrokerCheck reflects FINRA's commitment to investor transparency. Before working with any broker, investors should check whether the broker has an unpaid arbitration award against them. A broker with such an award has been found liable for investor harm by an independent arbitration panel and has not yet made the affected investor whole — information that is directly relevant to assessing whether to trust that professional with new assets.
Investors who have received arbitration awards should document all correspondence with the respondent about payment and contact FINRA Dispute Resolution Services if payment is not received within the required period after the award becomes final.
