Iowa Broker William Tunink Suspended for Failure to Provide Information to FINRA
According to FINRA, William Bernard Tunink was suspended from association with any FINRA member effective April 6, 2026, pursuant to FINRA Rule 9552(d), for failure to provide information or keep information current with FINRA.
FINRA Rule 9552(d) authorizes FINRA to suspend registered persons who fail to fulfill their basic obligation to provide required information or keep registration information current. This suspension mechanism is intended to compel compliance rather than permanently exclude the individual from the industry. The suspension remains in effect until the individual demonstrates that they have met their outstanding disclosure obligations.
The registration and disclosure obligations imposed on registered persons exist to support FINRA's oversight function and to provide investors with accurate information through BrokerCheck. These disclosures cover a range of material events—from customer complaints and legal proceedings to changes in employment and financial status. When registered persons fail to keep these disclosures current, investors may unknowingly interact with individuals whose regulatory history is incomplete.
Iowa investors who have worked with Tunink or who are evaluating any financial professional's background should use FINRA BrokerCheck to verify current registration status and review any available disclosure history. BrokerCheck is freely accessible at finra.org/brokercheck and is regularly updated as regulatory actions are finalized and registration statuses change.
Maintaining current and accurate disclosures is among the most basic obligations of securities industry professionals. Investors are entitled to accurate background information about the people they trust with their financial futures, and the enforcement of disclosure obligations through mechanisms like Rule 9552(d) helps ensure that standard is maintained across the industry.
