Jim Carl Dedmon Jr. Barred for Failure to Provide Information

barred

According to FINRA, Jim Carl Dedmon Jr. was barred from association with any FINRA member in all capacities pursuant to FINRA Rule 9552(h) for failing to provide information or keep information current as required.

FINRA Rule 9552 establishes procedures for suspending or barring individuals who fail to respond to FINRA requests for information or who fail to keep their registration information current. When individuals do not respond to these requirements, they may be automatically suspended and ultimately barred.

The failure to provide requested information prevents FINRA from conducting investigations and fulfilling its investor protection mission. Similarly, failure to keep registration information current can prevent FINRA and investors from having accurate information about securities professionals.

Dedmon's bar became effective on October 10, 2025.

For investors, this case serves as a reminder of the importance of checking your broker's regulatory status. Individuals who have been barred from the securities industry are prohibited from working with investors. Unfortunately, some barred individuals attempt to continue working with investors despite their prohibition.

You can verify whether any individual is properly registered and whether they have any regulatory history through FINRA's BrokerCheck system at brokercheck.finra.org. Before working with any financial professional, checking their background through this free resource is a simple but important step.

If you discover that someone who has been providing you with investment services is not properly registered or has been barred, you should stop working with them immediately and consider filing a complaint with FINRA.
