Massachusetts Broker Brendan Kammerer Suspended for Failure to Comply with Arbitration Award

suspended

According to FINRA, Brendan Stephen Kammerer was suspended from association with any FINRA member effective April 8, 2026, pursuant to FINRA Rule Series 9554, for failure to comply with an arbitration award or related settlement or an order of restitution.

Compliance with arbitration awards and settlement agreements is a legal and regulatory obligation for all FINRA-registered persons. FINRA's dispute resolution forum is designed to provide investors with an efficient means of resolving disputes with brokers and recovering losses attributable to misconduct. When brokers who lose arbitration cases or enter into settlements refuse to honor those outcomes, they harm the investors who prevailed and undermine confidence in the entire dispute resolution process.

FINRA Rule Series 9554 gives FINRA a direct enforcement tool to address non-compliance: suspension from association with any FINRA member firm until the individual meets their financial obligations. This mechanism is designed to incentivize payment by restricting the individual's ability to earn income in the securities industry while the obligation remains unpaid.

For investors who have won arbitration awards or reached settlements, the Rule 9554 process provides recourse when a broker fails to pay voluntarily. FINRA BrokerCheck reflects any Rule 9554 suspensions imposed on registered persons, which can be a useful signal to other investors considering working with those individuals.

Investors with pending claims or outstanding awards against securities professionals in Massachusetts should consult FINRA's arbitration resources and monitor BrokerCheck for any enforcement actions related to their case. Investors who are owed arbitration awards and are experiencing difficulties collecting them should contact FINRA directly for guidance on available enforcement mechanisms.
