Michigan Broker Matthew North Barred for Failure to Provide Information to FINRA

barred

According to FINRA, Matthew Adam North was barred from association with any FINRA member effective April 20, 2026, pursuant to FINRA Rule 9552(h), for failure to provide information or keep information current with FINRA.

FINRA's oversight of the securities industry depends fundamentally on registered persons fulfilling their disclosure obligations—reporting changes in employment, customer complaints, legal proceedings, regulatory actions, and other material events in a timely and accurate manner. These disclosures form the basis of FINRA BrokerCheck, which investors use to evaluate the background and qualifications of the professionals they trust with their finances.

When a registered person fails to meet these obligations, FINRA Rule 9552(h) authorizes the regulator to bar that individual from the industry. This measure protects investors by preventing non-compliant individuals from continuing to operate in positions of trust, while also preserving the integrity of the disclosure system that investors rely upon.

A bar under Rule 9552(h) may remain in effect indefinitely and can only be vacated upon a showing that the individual has come into compliance with their obligations. The bar prevents the individual from associating with any FINRA member firm in any capacity—not merely as a registered representative, but in any role.

Investors who have worked with North or who are considering working with any broker should review FINRA BrokerCheck records before establishing a financial relationship. BrokerCheck provides free, public access to the complete regulatory history of all FINRA-registered persons and firms, including any bars, suspensions, and other disciplinary actions.
