New Jersey Broker Cameryn Lindsay Barred for Refusing to Cooperate with SIE Examination Investigation
According to FINRA, Cameryn Alexis Lindsay was barred from association with any FINRA member in all capacities following an April 30, 2026 AWC.
Lindsay declined to produce information or documents requested by FINRA in connection with its investigation into irregularities in her Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) examination. The SIE is a prerequisite examination required for individuals seeking to register in the securities industry. It covers fundamental knowledge of capital markets, securities products, and regulatory frameworks. Irregularities in examination performance can include suspected cheating, unauthorized assistance, or other conduct that undermines the integrity of the testing process.
By refusing to participate in FINRA's investigation, Lindsay prevented FINRA from completing its inquiry into potential examination misconduct. Under FINRA Rule 8210, registered persons and associated persons are required to cooperate with FINRA's requests for information and documents. Failure to do so is itself a violation of FINRA rules, independent of whatever underlying conduct prompted the investigation.
The SIE examination serves a critical gatekeeping function for the securities industry: it ensures that individuals entering the industry have demonstrated the baseline knowledge required to operate in compliance with applicable rules and to serve customers responsibly. When the integrity of that testing process is called into question, it undermines confidence in the qualifications of registered persons throughout the industry.
